I'm a final-year Chemistry student at the University of Auckland, graduating June 2026. My world sits at the crossroads of STEM, startups, and storytelling — I believe the best ideas live where curiosity meets communication.
From synthesising catalysts in the lab to pitching VR flood-preparedness solutions in 5-day sprints, I thrive when problems are hard and teammates are curious. I'm actively co-developing Kāhui, a machine-learning sheep lameness detection platform for Aotearoa's farms.
I live in a space of translation — between science and innovation, between what graduates are handed and what they deserve. New Zealand science graduates often face a narrow funnel: academia, industry, or leaving. I want to change that. By bridging STEM and entrepreneurship, I'm working to create third spaces where creativity meets real numbers, and where the next generation of Kiwi scientists find reasons to stay.
Outside the lab: I take photos and document daily life, write poetry, crochet, and love a good yarn. Languages: English (native), Chinese (conversational).
Sheep lameness costs NZ $11–20M annually and is deeply undercharacterised. Kāhui is an IoT + machine learning platform that uses camera chokepoints and a Convolutional Neural Network on Google Cloud's Vertex AI to detect early-stage lameness (Grade 1), the kind no human eye catches in time. Built with co-founder Amaz Salman; currently interviewing farmers and building trust from the ground up.

Hands-on research under Dr Rosalyn Falconer, designing and synthesising heterogeneous catalysts. Developed lab skills in air-sensitive reactions, NMR interpretation, and Schlenk line operation, alongside research communication: grant pitches, abstracts, and scientific peer review.
5-day design sprint with a cross-functional team. Used Design Thinking, interviewing Auckland residents, to build a VR-based flood preparedness solution addressing real community fears and knowledge gaps.
EmCeed the Kick-off ceremony for UoA's student-run innovation & entrepreneurship programme. Creating marketing content that improved repost, share, and send metrics. Engaged in NZ Venture Capital workshops.
